Lizza Roman is a biotechnologist from Universidad Nacional de Asuncion, Paraguay, Her focus is synthetic biology, biodesign, and open science. In 2017 she came to Cambridge to take part in the Bioacademy program at EMW Street Bio Lab, becoming a local instructor for the course in Paraguay. She works as a Research Assistant in the Biotechnology Department at Universidad National Asunción where she helped design and build the first synthetic biology laboratory in Paraguay. In 2018 she was selected to be a member of the jury for the IGEM Competition. In her free time, you will find her running, hiking or terering (popular Paraguayan tradition) with friends and family.
