Learn.Design.Bio brings together designers and educators to discuss novel learning platforms and activities to advance biological design and synthetic biology education at K12 and beyond.
The event will take place in Meyerson Hall (210 South 34th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104) on the University of Pennsylvania campus. Meyerson Hall is a modern brown-red brick building sitting at the corner of Walnut and 34th Street (see red pin on map). On the other side of the street corner is a Starbucks.
Note that you cannot enter the building from the corner of Walnut and 34th street. You have to walk around Meyerson Hall to the front entrance on 34th street between Walnut and Spruce which is only accessible from the yard. It is right next to Fisher Fine Arts Library. There is a red Calder sculpture next to the entrance.
SEPTA buses stop at the corner of 34th and Walnut Street. The Septa Market-Frankford trolley line stops at the corner of 34th and Market Street.
The 30th Street Street station is a few blocks (0.6 miles) away, about a 15 minute walk or a $6-8 cab ride.
If you arrive from PHL airport, a cab ride takes about 20 minutes and has a fixed rate of $28.50 + 0.60 surcharge.
If you arrive by car on the I-76, take the exit 346a, “South Street”.
Limited metered street parking is available on Walnut Street and surrounding streets. A public parking garage can be found two blocks away, at the corner of Chestnut and 34th (3335 Chestnut St Philadelphia, PA 19104). Parking will cost $19/day.
